Imagine walking through streets and laneways laid
out in the days of horse and carriage, only to emerge into the hustle
and bustle of a vibrant and modern port city. Present and past merge
into a rich mix of cultures and traditions that is typical of the
older university towns of Europe.
The University of Notre Dame Australia aims to be one of the
best Catholic universities in the world. Founded through an Act of the
Parliament of Western Australia in December 1989, it now has over 7000
students enrolled on its three campuses.
The Fremantle Campus is located in the historic West End of
Fremantle, the main port city of Western Australia, 18 kilometres from
Perth. It is a "town" university and the only one of its type in
Australia. The beautiful buildings of both the Campus and the
surrounding city of Fremantle lend a distinctive character to Notre
Dame.
